Gualaceo is the heir to one of the oldest activities of humanity: pottery. Eliseo Bueno and 18 other relatives maintain the tradition of shaping a handful of wet clay, which after obtaining the shape of an object is subjected to high temperatures so that it acquires extreme hardness. The workshops are located in the sector of Llampasay, km. 2 way to El Descanso.
The elaborated objects (pots, vases, animal figures …) transcend the utilitarian function of serving as simple containers, as they are richly decorated and painted with which they achieve ornamental value, demanded for decoration spaces.
The final product is marketed nationally. At the workshops, tourists come to admire the work of people beating and kneading the mud, to then shape the objects in a rustic standing or electric winch. They fall in love with objects and can not leave without acquiring one.
